Can you get a game design job with a CIS degree? or a web design degree? ?
I am currently in a CIS program and they have asked me to choose a more specific route. Its between web design or programming. I would really like to get into either game design or cyber security, but I am unsure if either of these degrees could lead me to either of those jobs?

Computer information systems is more about network admin and IT work than computer science. However, iIf you pursue a graphics design minor while you complete your CIS degree you could work the artistic side of game dev. The programming aspects of game design require more math, physics, and CS concepts than you will be exposed to in a CIS curriculum.

I thought I’d be smart and sign up with a website that specialized in work at home jobs. I Googled a website that promised to give you leads from employers who were looking specifically for people to work from home. The home page listed a lot of national companies (Bank of America, American Express, etc.). It appeared that these companies routinely posted jobs on the web site. All I had to do was buy a yearly membership and I’d have access to those awesome jobs. Those national companies may have been known to hire people to work from home but I quickly found out that they did NOT post any jobs on this website. The membership was a total waste of my money. To sum it up, it was a scam. Were there jobs posted on the web site? Yes, but the jobs were for telemarketers and sales. Nothing for a computer professional. It bugged me that the same stale jobs would be listed each day as if they were fresh!

Hi, the job market in BC is down. Recently there was an article published that exposed that unemployment statistics may have been suppressed somewhat. There is a call however for your field of work in Toronto (GTA), Montreal, Ottawa and Calgary.
It would be easiest to find a job in Toronto, but housing is more reasonable in Montreal and Ottawa
How much should I charge my pastor for graphic and web design jobs?
My pastor gets me to constantly make powerpoint presentations for him (always very large, too), and now I am designing and maintaining THREE web sites for the church!
