What’s appropriate job interview attire for a web design job at a university?
In my area, design and tech firms are generally casual attire kinds of places (I can wear slacks and a nice sweater or shirt and be fine for an interview). However, I’m interviewing at a local university for a position there. I’m in my mid-20s, so I don’t want to look too stuffy or pretentious. I should add that I’m female, but don’t dress particularly feminine, so a skirt and blazer is out of the question. I only own 1 suit, and it’s in the main color of the university, so I’m reluctant to wear it. Basically, should I be wearing a suit, slacks and a jacket, or just slacks and a business-casual shirt? Any help is appreciated.

I have just started a night school course studying web design and im really enjoying it however i have been looking around on the internet for jobs in this field and there seems to be none. I have to pay 150pounds in the next 2month for my course but if its not going to be any good i will just stop. Probably because of the economy and maybe some over-supply in the market. I’m not sure how good the course is because the cost is pretty low. Remember you’re competing with people who have 3-4 year university degrees. Not that that means they’re better than you, but it means they have more background. There are still jobs out there, though – we’ve been looking for someone creative and someone technical for a while.
