What is the best 3D/graphic design software?

What software would you reccomend for making 3D or accurate blueprint-type drawings to design airplanes and aerospace components? I’m no expert with design, so I need something easy to use with accurate design capability.

3D Studio Max all the way for any high end graphics. Autocad’s primary function is for architecture, but for any 3D designs that will be used for graphical use 3D Studio Max is the way to go.

A Career In Graphic Design

Graphic designers are predicted to hold the most jobs by 2014. Keeping in mind the future of the media and the need for creative work, graphic designers are projected to have the best employment opportunities of all creative professionals.

Job of a Graphic Designer

Graphic designers analyze, plan and make creative visual solutions for communication. They help to express the message in the most effective way, in the form of print, film or electronic medium. A variety of methods like color combinations, illustrations, photography, print and print-layout techniques are used in graphic designing.

Graphic designers create the layout and production designs for newspapers, magazines, corporate reports, journals and other publications. They also develop promotional displays, marketing and packaging brochures for various products and services and unique design logos for businesses. In addition, they also make signs for government and businesses. The graphic designer also produces material for interactive media, Internet web pages and multimedia projects.

Job Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree is a must at the entry level in graphic designing. Some entry-level technical positions may require an Associate’s degree. However, problem-solving skills and creative communication are essential. Graphic designers should be familiar with computer graphics and the various design software available. A good graphic portfolio, with a collection of work samples showcases design ability effectively.

Graphic Designing Course Curriculum

Typical Graphic Design Curriculum Components:

-Studio art
-Computerized Design
-Principles of Design
-Printing techniques
-Commercial graphics production
-Web site design

Besides formal graphics training, there are some courses such as writing, art history, psychology, foreign language, sociology, cultural studies, business and marketing that are effective aids in understanding the intricacies of graphic designing.

It is the job of the graphic designer to give meaning to thoughts and ideas. When an idea is expressed, the job falls on the graphic designer to present it on paper and create a suitable combination of visual medium. This can be accomplished with pictures and animated presentations, which could include sound as well.

Working Of The Creative Department

After the client gives the company a rough idea about the project and his expectations, the creative team gets down to the business of trying out various ideas and techniques to achieve a positive end result. Although most creative people work as a team in advertising agencies and various publications, the graphic designer can do the job independently.

Earnings of a Graphic Designer

Architectural, engineering, and related services: $42,740.
Specialized design services: $41,620.
Advertising and related services: $40,010.
Printing and related support activities: $32,830.

Anyone know of any affordable graphic design software?

I’m trying to build my own website and I prefer to design all the images myself. I really don’t have any experience but I want to learn. I’m hoping there is some easy to use software out there I can use to make this happen. Anyone have any recommendations? Looking for something affordable too.

try gimp. It’s free and has most of the features of Photoshop and Paintshop pro. Some features are even better than Photoshop. Also, it doesn’t take that much space on your harddrive. Photoshop requires about 500 mb for the latest version and Paintshop Pro requires 100-200 mb.

If gimp is too confusing, try Paint.NET. It’s a more advanced version of regular windows paint and has more features that are easy to use.

http://www.getpaint.net/index2.html

Both of these are free. If you want to go advanced, there’s Photoshop which cost around $500 and Paintshop pro which costs ~$100. Corel Draw and Ulead are also good and they’re a lot cheaper than Photoshop.

Best Web Site Design Software

There are many different ways to build a web site, some are easy and some a little more complicated but one thing for sure it’s a lot easier if we can find the best web site design software.

But no matter which web site design software we use there are a number of mistakes we should avoid:

Mistake #1: Using too large of a graphic header on the top of your page.
Mistake #2: Using “washed out” colors that make your web site feel drab and lifeless. Or
using colors that are WAY too bright.
Mistake #3: Using more than four colors (one of those being black!) on your web site.
Mistake #4: Using more than four different TYPES of fonts on the same page.
Mistake #5: Displaying your sales “message” on a dark colored background!
Mistake #6: Using too many “tricked out” scripts at once which causes browser “freeze”
Mistake #7: Cramming way too much content into too small of a space. (Not enough white space.)
Mistake #8: Using “busy” or “watermarked” background patterns.
Mistake #9: Specifying fonts that are TOO SMALL!
(This isn’t so much a design mistake as it is one related to the overall process…)
Mistake #10: Not clearly identifying your offer.

It doesn’t matter if you have the best web site design software on the planet if you make these mistakes your web site is doomed to fail. So which web site design software should we use? That really depends on a number of factors, level of experience, the product you’re promoting, how detailed you want you site.

Normally I don’t promote a product in my articles but since we’re here to talk about the best web site design software, I’ll mention a couple of them. The first is CoffeeCup HTML editor, this is the first web site design software I ever used, I found it bulky and hard to use, the next was a web site design software called Dreamweaver. Dreamweaver is a decent program but it’s pretty tuff for the beginner to use.

The Best Web Site Design Software I’ve found is called:
Design Dashboard: http://www.jbvh.com/DesignDashboard.html.

As far as I’m concerned this is the best web site design software there is. It walks you step-by-step through what to do and how to do it. Every step is clearly laid out and labeled with big, blue numbers and step-by-step screen caps (with support by video as needed).

Saves you tons of time. All you do is click and follow the instructions. You don’t have to try to figure out what’s next. You just click the next icon and follow the steps. The step-by-step screen caps make it much faster and easier to use and follow than programs that are all videos.

Something for you if you’re a beginner or advanced student. Design Dashboard was created for beginners. But there are a few steps for advanced students as well. For example, you get EXCLUSIVE patterns that beat the heck out of the defaults in Photoshop or Elements. Those alone are worth the price.

I hope I’ve made your search for the best web site design software a little easier.

Help me decide which graphic design software to use?

I love to create ads and have shared this responsibility with a few different graphic designers over the past few years. I’ve been using Print Shop to create preliminary ads but they cannot be saved as .pdf. I want to be able to create .pdf files for some quick ads instead of hiring them out. Should I invest in Illustrator or a different program? I’d like to find something with a moderately shallow learning curve. Thanks in advance for you replies…

I’m not sure what you are expecting the PDF file to do for you, but there are several free downloads of PDF creation programs. One is called PDF Creator and what it does is act as a printer. To use it you select it as the printer and it makes your graphics or text into a PDF file. It then can be opened by anything that reads PDF.

As far as graphics design software, I like Corel for art type stuff. It also is capable of opening and saving files as JPG, TIF, GIF, and a bunch of other formats.

Another similar program is Canvas. It also has a large selection of design tools.
There are much more powerful graphics designers available but you better have deep pockets and expect a significant learning curve.
Hope that answered your questions.

does anybody know where i can get real good graphic design software without paying for it.

With paying for it? Um, Adobe Photoshop is obviously the most popular and best professional design software. Though there are others out there too that you can find cheaper and pay for.

You can get the lesser version of Photoshop, Lightbox 2, and even 30% by going to http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-3562330-10533020

Wilmington University’s Game Design and Development Program

Game Design and Development Program

Bachelors of Science – Game Design and Development Program

Interdisciplinary Skill Set
Combining the skills of video production, graphic design, interactive design, 3D skills and programming, this interdisciplinary degree program prepares the student for the exciting world of game design and development. Crossing the boundaries of traditional game programs, the Game Design and Development Program combines both the programming and design aspects of creating video games for major platforms, consoles, and mobile devices, virtualization for medical, educational, and military applications, as well as the next round of interactive applications.
Your Quest
Gaming is becoming integrated into how we learn, socialize, interact, and gather information. Its designing the interactions a user makes when using an interface. Its simulations for real world practice without consequence.
Change the stigma attached to “Gaming” – Or Stop Playing Around
The ‘Gaming Skill Set’ is a well rounded individual capable of managing a project from inception to completion, understanding of video and audio techniques, designing interfaces and user experiences, creating environments that reflect real world scenarios or create new worlds to explore, programming complex levels with physics, logic and purpose, and measure users progress through those scenarios.
Whether its for entertainment, education, or training purposes, (maybe it’s all three!) you’ll be in control of your career. At the end of the program, you’ll have examples of products created entirely by you, as well as in a team environment.

‘Lvl your career’
The curriculum is designed to balance the programming and design skills needed to understand the industry pipeline of product creation. The projects will provide the users the tools to improve reaction time, improved hand eye coordination, think strategically, process cause and effect, and increase ability to process multiple stimuli. Students will gain an understanding of every aspect of the gaming industry – from concept development to character and environment creation to programming user interfaces and ‘guts’ of a game to marketing their products to project management.

One of these could be you: Concept / Storyboard Artists, Character Artists & Animators, Level Designers, Texture Artists, Programmers, Interface Designers, Sound / Audio, or Professional Testers.
To be employed here: Corporate web designers, programmers, support staff roles, production studios, corporate communications teams, design firms, advertising agencies, art directors, creative directors, project coordinators, producers, directors, designers, etc.

Does this sound like you?
• Not afraid of programming (Even if you don’t understand it yet!)
• You loose time creating or working on a project
• You get excited about creating AND working on projects that are challenging
• You enjoy challenges, like learning software, solving problems, and troubleshooting issues
• You enjoy seeing how people react to your work, even when they question it
• You enjoy a good debate, hard work, the little details, and a good laugh.
• You love working on a computer, not just using a computer
