Any suggestions for inexpensive graphic design software?
I’m a beginning graphic design artist and am looking for an inexpensive graphic design software, any suggestions?
Photoshop Elements, about $99 or less. Used software can be found on Amazon as well. However, it’s worth it to own Photoshop and/or InDesign. Ask your friends/instructors—some of them might have the older versions and not using it.

Can the dreamweaver program be used for part time web design jobs?
I really want to know if the dreamweaver program can be used for a part time job because im still in highschool and want to go collage for webdesign so i figured it would be a good job.
Unless the employer specifically requests that you don’t, I don’t see why not. Just make sure that Dreamweaver gets its little tag in there saying it was developed on it.
What kind of training do I need to become a web page designer?
I saw an adobe class to train on web design. Do you think that would be enough?
I am looking to do this as more of a supplemental income not a full fledge career.
I go to a design school. There’s a course called Graphic Design and Interactive Media. It’s a Bachelor of Design course for 3 years.
I can see why my friends from those courses laugh at people who go through 6 months of so-called IT training in whatever programme and think they’re ready to be the real deal.
No, my friend, it’s not enough. I’m not saying you absolutely need a degree for it. You need numerous training. Not just one. And more importantly, you need experience. I’m a web designer myself. I’ve been fooling around web designing for 8 years now. And I don’t take media courses.
Good luck. I suggest you ask that adobe class organizer what kinds of qualifications they can provide you with and if there are any follow-up classes after that.
What is the best monitor to get for professional graphic/ web design?
What is the best monitor to get if you are working in graphics/graphic/web design? The best in resolution, dpi, color and etc? Cost not an issue, but want best quality.
Thank you for your input!
I WANT LCD MONITOR ONLY.
CRTs are still tops for color. Mitsubishi Diamondtron, NEC, and LaCie (if you can find one used) are the best I’ve ever used.
What kind of graphic design software is most commonly used with a PC?
I am an aspiring graphic designer and I have a Dell, which is obviously a PC.I was wonder if there were any graphic design softwares out there that could be used with a PC.
Any help here?
If you want a free one, GIMP can take a little bit to get used to but it’s good once you get the hang of it.
If you have some cash, Corel Photoshop pro costs $120 last I checked for the latest version. I only use it because my cousin bought if for my birthday and it’s amazing.
Paintshop is a bit weaker in my opinion but a good $30-$70 depending on the version.
I also bought Printshop Deluxe for $50 before I got Corel.
Looking for a cheap web site designer experienced in Flash?
If anyone knows of a really cheap web site designer who knows flash please let me know. I would like to see a portfolio of their work and know how much they charge. Can anyone help me?
Maybe you should consider doing what I am doing…..and build your own site! It’s actually VERY easy, even for a beginner, like me………..
I am using a company called Sitesell. This is the very first time I have built a website, so I needed a company who could take me by the hand, step by step!
I have nothing but praise for them! They make EVERYTHING so easy! They supply all of the online training, simple (yet incredibly sophisticated tools) and excellent support.
The cost is just $299. That includes all of the above plus domain registration. They even supply the templates for designing your site! And don’t worry about html coding or other techy stuff as that’s all taken care of for you!
My site is only 9 months old. It is already very highly ranked by the major search engines and is attracting up to 1000 hits a day! Plus it generates an income which not only covers the costs, but actually shows a healthy profit!
You can get more info from my information page at:

Please feel free to contact me through my site if you would like anymore info or advice.

how to find web design jobs?
Hello, does anyone have any good website that can let me find good web design jobs? we have a professional web design team.
Thanks!
I’ll give you the real skinny…
You first need to have some sort of portfolio. Whether academic or personal. Go out and do a free website for someone. EVERY business "wants" a website so there is no shortage there.
Now you have two options really. You can be a freelancer where you do sites for businesses (not recommended) or you can get into a firm and develop their site. I DO NOT recommend online job services because all you get is spam and temp agencies. You need to check out the regular old newspaper; online or paper. Also check any local papers in your area. Sometimes just walking into a place could offer a position. Go to local job fairs and hand out your resume with live sites you have done. You really got to hussle for it. If you just want to walk into businesses, I would try local retail stores, manufacturing plants, realtor’s (that is a BIGGY) and just any well established local or small chain. Forget about the big names like Lowe’s, Starbucks, etc. They have their own marketing department which includes a web team. OH YEAH, marketing firms are really good places to start if there is one in your area. Don’t forget about local organizations too. You can find them in your local city paper.
Hope this helps.

What is the best free web page designer program?
I want to make my own web page. What program is both free and user friendly?
The best I have found to date used to cost a bundle of bucks but has recently been placed into public domain as freeware. All you need do is download a copy and install it and go to town. It works in both WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) as well as direct source HTML editing, 1st Page 2000. It has a HUGE amount of online help available. The most current version is from 2006, however that costs still. Scroll down and get v2 of 1st Page 2000. I have been using this editor for years and have found NO better free editor. I can’t believe someone suggested Frontpage. You have to buy a Microsoft product to get Frontpage. Frontpage is NOT a free program. And besides, your web server has to have what are called "Frontpage extensions" enabled which not all web hosting services provide. If the extensions are NOT enabled, your page may NOT display as it does on your machine in all browsers. And MS calls this incompatibility a ":benefit" of using their program…
And if you do not have a web host already, you might try http://www.freewebs.com as a place to play around. There is no advertising (unlike other free hosts like angelfire and lycos which use a banner at the top and bottom of every page with as many as 4 advertisers shown) except for a button link you have to put at the bottom of the page which links to the freewebs home page. I created a web page at http://www.freewebs.com/ngc1147m/ just to see how easy it really was in about 10 minutes after I signed up. Note the the line near the bottom of this page referencing freewebs which is one of the many forms of link code you have to use as the price for free web hosting. I just added some things to their index.htm file. At the time, I was learning javascript which is where the pithy saying in the middle of the page comes from each time you visit or reload the page. Like I said, this is a really good place to experiment as you learn to program your own web pages. While you are at it, visit http://w3schools.com/ for some tutorials on HTML and web page design. w3schools is a bit over the head of a beginner just getting started sometimes. Another source is http://www.about.com which unfortunately has popup windows (get a popup blocker if you do not have one), but if you do a site search for "web page design" has a huge amount of simple tutorials on designing web pages.
